    Best way to get fodder to enrich the soil. Shedding leaves to a tree is like we shedding hair. In both cases it will grow back.

    That’s true, we live in a forest with dozens of beeches nearby. Removing beechnuts from rain gutters is a big job every year, too.

    Well, I got here late this afternoon but I’m glad to see that a few others caught the obvious misquote. Now, try singing all of Ms. Dickinson’s poetry to the tune of “The Yellow Rose of
    Texas.” “Waited for death?” Good grief!

    The Gilligan’s Island theme works just as well as the “Yellow Rose of Texas”. The xkcd comic brought this to light some time ago with the same Dickinson quote. Look up “common metre” in Wikipedia to find more words and songs that fit.
