A serious waste of Billions (Actually Trillions). They should put some emphasis on exploring our own planet and attempting to deal with (cure) the diseases here on earth. Start with seriously looking at the oceans, our life source!

I feel sorry for folks like you, Wayne. We spend plenty of effort exploring our own world, seeking cures for diseases, etc. But the closed mind that thinks mankind’s need to explore, and the benefits derived from said exploration, should end at some predetermined boundary, whether it’s a country border or the edge of the stratosphere, is a mind deprived of vision. The benefits to mankind from space exploration are too innumerable to go into here but they include a better understanding of our own planet and many advances in medicine.

Wayne, umm, how can I put this politely. You are very ignorant of the benefits to humanity (not just the USA) of space exploration. No, I won’t list them here, the major headings alone would exceed the text input limit. Suggest that you do some research.
Suffice: the tools we use to make this world a better place are as a result of space exploration.

It’s only a matter of time, I’m afraid.
