Growing up it was Armistice Day……at 11:00 on 11/11 we children stood up and faced east for one minute. Anyone remember that?
Veterans, get your free meal today from many restaurants in your honor. I will.
Good Monday morning, Crew and all critters.

I took it to mean that he loves November, golf, and Raymond.

(Because I’m persnickety that way, not because it helps to understand today’s strip.)

That should be “Solemn” not “Happy”!
Today is a day to remember men and women who died, were wounded, and are currently on the battle fields to make this a safe continent for us to live. Nothing “Happy” and a lot “solemn” about it.

Allan, I understand your thoughts on this matter. Through my years of Volunteering with many Veterans groups most all feel this is a day of joy and rememberance. I had a fellow today 31 years in service, now in National Guard served several tours in combat and he was Proud and Joyful of his acomplishments.

We just got back from Applebees for my free meal and you can tell the WW2 vets……also, a precious lady in a uniform who was in the Navy during WW2…….
Armistice Day growing up, solemnly facing east at 11:00 on 11/11.
We grieve for our fallen soldiers on Veteran’s Day, too. In fact, we grieve all year and never forget.
