I’m surprised Detorie use a malapropism for today’s repeat; Ruthie might get a kick out of the oft-misheard lyrics to that last song.

OK, school me, StoicLion – How is that a malapropism?
The coffee must not have kicked in yet.

(now I can’t get that song out of my head… “To make her happy doesn’t take a lot”)

I’m sure StoicLion MEANT a Malaprop of one of the 3 CHILDREN’S songs that dad mentioned first. The fact that those reminded him of the NOT so distant part of his school days is equally funny.

I’ll leave those other lyrics alone. Since I spun out of control yesterday, I put on my Halloween outfit early to let this snow cool me off.

“You are my Sunshine’ is not the same as “You are the Sunshine of my life”

Still no malapropism; those titles are all correct.

I agree that “You are my sunshine” is not a children’s song. Upbeat tune but downbeat lyrics. He’s being left.

And my favorite S and C song, “The Beat Goes On”!

Since when? It was considered a children’s song when I was a child in the 1960s (when dinosaurs roamed the Earth)….
    Performed by the GiggleBellies:

Long before that, though, Jimmy Wakely & the Sunshine Girls made it a #1 pop song in 1940:
