    The second-to-last panel says it all. Growing up, I fought with my sister sometimes, but I would cream anyone who tried to hurt her.

    Little-spoken truth: ALL families are dysfunctional in one way or another. Some are just more obvious about it…

    OK, this is just genius. I tip my hat to Mr. Detorie.

    Telling doesn’t work half as well as showing. Telling one thing and showing the opposite can confuse the children.

    @Stratmanron

    My brother and I fought at home all the time but I’ll never forget once the neighbour kids ganged up on me, I forget why, it may have had to do with my big mouth, but my brother told them they’d have to go through him to get to me. I was shocked that he stuck up for me. When I asked him why later he said, “You’re my sister!”

    This begs the question:
    Would Linus have done that for Lucy, if the situation arose?

    Re: today’s strip:

    “Hey, bird-dog, get away from my quail,
    Hey, bird-dog, you’re on the wrong trail,
    Bird-dog, you better leave my lovey-dovey alone”

    They sure get worked up over made-up words.

    My brother was 4 years my junior but was still always making trouble for me. Noone misses him.

    I love that Willie seems to have made friends with the blackbird.
