    Wish I had realised that years ago. Might have helped me cope with the verbal abuse better.

    Yes, Parents SHOULD get an instruction Manual with the First Baby.

    Raising Kids is too important to be left to the untried and uninformed. Just look at what a wonderful job Mr & Mrs Hitler did with little Adolph!

    A good message from a great character. Sometimes Claire feels like my real life older sister. If you’re reading this Carla & Henry. Keep it up.

    @Leo Autodidact

    Adolph got the tar beaten out of him on a regular basis by an alcoholic father. Of course no one cares about that little fact, compared to what he did. Same thing with Stalin, alcoholic dad, beatings.

    This storyline reminds me of this girl I knew named Hero in her language, though no one called her that. The teachers would burst out laughing because it was such a strongly masculine name, and she was so small. But starting at age four she would go long distances through the floods during monsoons to get help for her mother and the babies when the dad was off to war. I don’t know how she did that. I get disoriented in a big mall. Her mother is embarrassed now about that, now that life is so different for them.
