How do dogs go from keeping their nose to the ground, smelling everything in their path, to instantly spotting a squirrel way up in a tree or running along the power lines? The sudden thrust accounts for much of the long arm syndrome as well as future shoulder problems.

I think you’re thinking of the one arm more muscular than the other syndrome. Either way you’re right, better left unsaid.

One time while walking my dog we spotted a HUGE 10pt. Buck near some woods and he TOOK OFF w/ ME in tow, thru some woods & 2 yards until the Buck leaped over a hedge and ran off. My lungs were burning but it was still an Incredible sight to see.
