They are helping the Tea Party destroy the Republican Party, Duh! And you may not believe it, but as a relative independent I do not necessarily think that is an over all good thing for the country. But, truth is still truth, whether we like it or not!!

The Battle of the Alamo in 1836 was an important battle, and gave Sam Houston time to prepare to defend the Texas Independence movement.
    -
Davy Crockett gave his life for a United States that would include (eventually) the State of Texas.
    -
Santa Anna of Mexico was the enemy, sort of like the 2013 Democratic Party.
    -
The 150 Texans led by Lt.Col. Travis knew they faced an overwhelming army of 5,000. But they fought, anyway.
Sort of like the 2013 Tea Party Republicans.
    -
Now the GOP better wake up and prepare for the January battle over budget and debt ceiling. Obama day one of end of “shutdown” already has a long list of NEW SPENDING.
And the Senate Democrats stuck in $3 Billion of Pork spending in the “deal” the spineless Sen. McConnell and House Boehner agreed to. Roll call votes in both chambers, so Conservatives make up your Lists of who goes into the voting Doghouse.

I am truly disgusted at the D.C. leadership that has committed accounting felonies and lied about the true debt numbers for months. Is there one honest Democrat or one honest RINO GOP in D.C.??

Oops! It seems that someone needs to look at history with a bit more detail and understanding. The Battle of the Alamo was for Texas Independence and eventually resulted in the existence of the Republic of Texas. It had nothing to do with the United States. Approximately 10 years later, the Republic of Texas elected to join the United States, at which time Davy Crockett was long dead, having died for freedom from Mexico for the Republic of Texas. He could never have envisioned at that time having joined the Union.

I don’t know about the wishful thinking of labeling who is winning the fight in the toon, but it appears that the majority of those being whupped are wearing pots rather than hats. Also two of the casualties are wearing what appears to be western styled boots. Great Toon as always, Nick!

Thank you, I have tried to point that out for several weeks now.

Please explain this comment. To the best of my knowledge, Texas has been a part of the Union since gaining statehood (with the exception of the War Between the States, aka the Civil War, which has nothing to do with Davy Crockett) and has provided several U.S. Presidents since that time. Do you have a point to make, and can you substantiate it?

    Or are you just trolling?
