Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

.
That’s what the Republicans tried – but they couldn’t seem to see anyone but the Tea Party, and the rest of us saw through their lies.

Yes, that’s right. That’s why they failed.
We agree yet again.
If they GOP had told the truth, they may have got more votes, and not just spinning stories to the Tea Party.

Truth hurts. They just can’t handle the truth.
Once the higher taxes and more taxes and more taxes kick in people will realize the mistake they made.

Just like its the states that vote Democratic that subsidize the red states, everyone I know who thinks this are all, ironically, on government assistance and are fiscally irresponsible. Instead of taking responsibility for their own actions, they blame their fiscal problems on the other: the blacks, minorities, whom the Republican party has held out as scapegoats.

There is a real good local PBS show called Florida This Week that has a mix of politicians, journalists and pundits. They spent a half hour talking about the reasons the GOP lost the national election but won most of the local ones.

Perhaps, if things go the way “Ima” predicts, the standard of living in the USA might rise to that of Norway or Sweden? There would be no danger of such an increase (in standard of living) under a Romney administration ….

More specifically, in the minds of many poor whites, the “others” get all the good jobs because of skin color. They never ask why jobs are fewer and pay is lower, but the wealth and income of guys like me is going through the roof.
It helps that there are plenty of other rich guys willing to fund Republican campaigns. We talk about getting government off of peoples’ backs, but the only people we actually do this for are the millionaires and billionaires.
If you believe that consumer demand is the real job creator, paying people better should be your top priority.

“But none could truthfully tell “why” Obama won.”
That’s an easy one, even those of the lowest intelligence level would understand that, President Obama got the most votes.
Why do you and the republicans have such a hard time understanding that simple fact?

They understand “simple”; it’s the “FACTS” part that confuses them.

Do you have any idea how many shoppers had to abandon their grocery carts when the EBT cards didn’t work? They could see the signs but said they didn’t think it applied to them. They are so brilliant!!!!!
I felt sorry for the clerks who had to restock cart upon cart and watch the EBTers get into their new Fords, and caddies.
