When I was in the 4th grade, a man would always stop at our bus stop to show us a magic trick when the weather was nice enough for him to bike to work. One of his tricks was to fold a maple leaf up and unfold it to get lunch money. Us kids spent so much time and effort trying to duplicate the magic, that maple was stripped clean of every leaf within climbing reach before we gave up. I bet he got a good laugh to himself seeing that tree on his way to work a few weeks later.
