    Kids these days with their technology, and their phones they always text from. They can’t seem to let go of it for a minute.

    I remember my first comic strip was one of Haggar the Horrible, where hhe tells his son all the long way he walked to go to school when was his age… but it was in the back of a cereal box, I don’t remember why.

    That’s sad. Kid’s not living life if he doesn’t know what comics are.

    Hanna-Barbara created their own set of super heroes before they were put into 5 comic books and several Big/Little Books.

    I don’t know, today the kid might not be exposed except for places like here. I know where I live, the 7 day a week paper (and this is true for the 4 largest cities in the state, also) went to printing only 3 days a week (Sunday, Wednesday and Friday). What is bad is that on Wednesday you have 3 days of comics to go through (a total of 6 full pages worth).

    I know when I was a kid, the greatest thing was to get the comics page (or two pages) and read them, daily. It might have taken you only a few minutes but you could get them in between coming in from playing outside and being told to wash your hands NOW or between doing the dishes and starting your home work.

    I’d forgotten there was a “Li’l Abner” musical! (Sheesh, they’re all musicals.) “Kudzu” got one too, but I haven’t heard about it since it debuted.

    It makes me sad too knowing that all kids (and most adults) know about superheroes are what they see in the movies.

    I think this little storyline didn’t age as well as the others…

    @Tom Flapwell

    The movie “Li’l Abner” is a color musical too. No doubt based upon the musical itself.

    Luann has a musical. It is supposed to be very good, though I have never seen it.
