Oy? I take is Ashley is either Jewish or Australian. If she was Australian that would make the comic ten times cuter <3

She’s from Bengala, is possible she be relative of the Phantom.

I don’t think a Jewish Ashley would have a shirt with a big cross on its front.

    She’s got a martyr complex.

I say it and I am as far away from Jewish or Australian. Plenty of cross cultural activity going on in humanity.

Originally she was going to be a religious character. Glad they changed it.

From the usage, as an expression of exasperation, I lean towards Jewish.

Ed has stated that the cross wasn’t meant to be Christian.

That’s all fine, but it doesn’t matter what he thinks it symbolizes or not. The first thing a new reader is going to think is that it symbolizes Christianity, and there’s nothing in the comic itself to counter that, except for Ashley’s actual character, which will take some time to determine.
