    Whoa, COOL! My first typewriter was an antique, and very similar to the drawing. It had a 3" keystroke, and held my desk safely on the floor for many years.

    I found an absolutely GORGEOUS 1923 Underwood on eBay while researching for this strip. It was selling for $500 and I had to physically restrain myself from making an offer.
