Hell, that’s nothing!
When I was little, I used to eat the heads off matches.
Had a pleasant, salty taste.

Jeff does not seem to get the point. I remember the pencil chewers and nail biters in primary school. I realize now that there were probably problems at home.

Stop fretting, Mutt. Jeff is a….umm grown ‘up’ adult and has his own responsiblities. It’s nice that you care but maybe you should focus more on little Cicero.

Did any of those matches ever ignite in mouth, as in the Sylvester and Tweety cartoon?
“Now I got you Tweety! Into my mouth you go!”
“Gee, it sure is dark inside Sylvesters mouth.
I think I’ll light a match so I can see better”
“YEEEOW! What’s the big idea setting fire to my tongue?”

Incidentally, pencil “lead” is actually graphite – carbon.
Paint on pencil may have lead?

Pencil chewers and nail biters usually indicated some kind of nervous disorder whether related to home life or whatever.
