Poor Jeff, he tries so hard to no avail, he’ll soon be out in the street singing “Brother Can Yo Spare A Dime?” #3 “Lu Lu’s Back In town” and so is WW2.

Hope I have the right singer…

I listened to Bing Crosby’s version of ‘Brother Can You Spare a Dime’ and I love it!

    Brilliant song.

I love the hat on Jeff’s knees – a harbinger of what’s to come?

Haha. In today’s time, Jeff would have made out like a champ. Got OSHA on speed-dial.

You may be too young to remember who was noted for wearing a crumpled top hat, but a famous bandleader Ted Lewis wore one and his theme song was “It’s a lonesome old town when you’re not around.”

Al Jolson and Rudy Vallee also sang it. In line with today’s strip, we might go to “I’ve grown accustomed to your Vase(oops! FACE)”—LOL

Listen to Jolson’s version. It is really great. There is even a line in there about a man named Al. Very appropriate for Jolie,

Thought Lewis’ theme song was When My Baby Smiles at Me. And perhaps his most famous song, Me and My Shadow. Is everybody happy?

If we could only do to the government what the boss did to Jeff when they start talking about “raising”…..

I listened to Nat Cole’s version of that. Not sure if that was the one you meant.

But anyway… I really enjoyed it.

    (Sorry, I love that… It’s cute)

The solution is simple, Boss; just get that vase reappraised in its present condition. It’s probably worth only a penny now, and Jeff can easily afford that.
