    When I got married in 1958, the boss raised my salary from $225 a month to $250. One year later we bought a 3-bedroom brick home for $9,500 ($75.00 a month).

    $5000 a year was good money when a new ford was $400, a loaf of bread was 5 cents, a decent three piece suit was $15 and gasoline was 3 cents a gallon.

    Call it 100 to 150 K in 2012 dollars.
