    One thing I don’t understand. Most of us hated school for one reason or another. So why, when we grew up and saw our kids hating it just as much if not more, didn’t we get up off the couch and do something about it? Why, after generations of general misery, is it still a generally miserable experience?

    Because if we had to suffer, so too must they. Why else would you be upset there is no Santa, then lie through your teeth about him to your kids?
