Would you like to borrow my book on “The Untold History of String”, until things calm down?

Since you refuse to move your furniture, Monty (some kind of fatalistic feng shui?), you may wish to don some armor and get a shotgun. unless you think you can befriend Attila, all the while watching a fascinating PBS show about plywood….

It doesn’t appear that the wormhole is actually in one of the walls, but seems to be stationary in the middle of the room – maybe that’s why Monty can’t move his chair and TV to a safer location?

Sounds like a job for Thorax from “9 Chickweed Lane” or “Pibgorn”.

I love Modern Marvels. They can make the hands of a clock spinning or paint drying interesting to watch.

Centigrade… or did they mean Celcius?

That should be “Celsius”. “Centigrade” is an architectural term for the number of units of rise per 100 units of run.

Of course, if we could ever jettison Fahrenheit, we could get by simply by saying “degrees”, and there’d be no confusion as to what was meant.
