I remember those pens. I’ve even had the 4 colour one with black, blue, red and green.

Gadgets with mysterious functions, even more mysterious controls, and Instruction Manuals (if any) that use undecipherable icons instead of plain English are a pain to many of us. Even some of the gizmos on my car I can use only if have the manual open in front of me, they are so opaque.

I’m the only person in my family who speaks “IKEA,” those icon-driven assembly instructions. Thus, I’m the go-to guy whenever anybody buys some Ůblœrkę bookcases.

We have a bunch of the 4-colour ones at home with the blue run out … My wife used to use ‘em at work but only ever used the blue. When that ran out she’d bring ’em home ….

I had this problem for two years. I gave up looking for the source of the beep (in the bedroom every 38 secs) and lived with it.

When I rented out the flat 2 months ago, the tenent complained to my letting agent. Some asshole had put a false ceiling over a smoke detector and I was charged £60 for an electrician to remove it!

You should be able to get refills for those. You can even replace the colors you don’t use with colors you do (or in many cases, a pencil).

I had a mysterious beeping yesterday morning; it was part of the wireless alarm system. I went to the panel for status and it told me the motion detector next to the front door had low battery signal. I took a step ladder over and fixed it before breakfast. Some of the smoke detectors in my house are in really stupid places. One is so far into the top of the stairway that I can’t reach it. I told the electrician who did one of my lighting projects to remove it, but he just removed the cover so it’s even uglier. They are on line power so at least I’ll never have to change the battery and if I have an electrician again I’ll be at home now.

Does anybody really still wear watches? I used to feel naked without mine and I had several from which to choose, but now my cell phone has the exact time all the time even when we switch to or from DST. So why wear a watch?
Rista said, 6 months ago
@msowards
Yup some of us do. I can even mostly figure out my watches buttons. (Of course I did NOT get a 17 button watch :)

I remember it as a four-color Bic. I still have one around.

I have to look up the pdf file on the computer, which has the instructions, to change anything on my watch….
