    With this ilk, it is better to compare them to steel making. The slag rises to the top, you scrape it off.

    I think that this comic strip should stay out of politics. We want to be entertained not tried to be led to believe one way or the other on politics. We get enough of that every day.

    @Billy Melton

    I dropped all of my political cartoons because I got tired of it all and didn’t want to waste my precious comics reading time. In Meddick’s defense I suppose it is in character for Sedgewick, but I agree. It isn’t like there isn’t enough weirdness to explore otherwise.

    I’m glad the strip is reminding people who might not otherwise notice (e.g. they watch F*x ‘News’) what an evil, greedy, out-of-touch candidate the Republicans have.

    I for 1 have enjoyed the politics discussed in this storyline. I’m actually LOL which most comics fail to do.

    Darn Republicans,not like the evil,greedy,out of touch,self righteous and arrogant Democrats like we have here in Illinois.Oh sorry,I forgot your messiah Obama is a spawn of that same crooked machine.Let the Chief socialist,oops,I mean “community activist” get back to spreading the wealth of his donors and let some one get this country out of this mess.

    Romney, Ryan, Obama, and Biden, all are probably some pretty decent guys. It’s their bosses (the parties) that scare me.

    Don’t worry, dude… the wealth has already been redistributed— to the the rich oligarchs who pull the strings in this country!

    Whoops! He forgot new nearly-free mining rights on public lands for uncle Cecil and contracts to provide the pentagon with $500 dollar toilet seats for uncle Lyman.

    Indeed the wealth has been redistributed – as was just recently shown in a book published this week. They wealthy pay more taxes in the US than in any western industrialized country. Yes that means socialist Europe. The reason we don’t have that worker’s paradise is that everyone in Europe pays taxes even the poor. Not so here. Second we are watching Europe implode under the inefficiencies of wealth redistribution. Just this week the strongest economy in Europe, Germany, is about to reduce its tax burden to get their economy moving. England is looking to do the same.

    How can these coercive socialist governments even consider reducing their punitive taxes and coincidentally their own governmental powers? Because they want their economies to grow. If real socialist governments understand that much why is it so difficult for the left to understand the same here?

    And for the those who complain about “oligarch” here in the US cast an eye upon the governments in Europe. You’re just trading a wealth creating oligarch for a wealth destroying oligarch. The oligarch argument is garbage if pointing to Europe as the glorious workers model.

    For those complaining they are “rich” enough that’s just sour grapes. If you want real poverty go to Africa. The poor here would be considered well to do in many developing countries. It has nothing to do with fairness, but rather I’m not as rich as you. I can’t get to where you are so I’m going to use the coercive means of government to drag you down to my level.

    I don’t think the parties are the bosses. It’s the lobbyists and other corporate masters that do the bossing. The campaign fund is the ultimate boss.
