Well, certainly that small wad is not worth $4.50…. Long-suffering Jarvis just absorbs the hit and moves on, as so many times before.
    Will the worm ever turn?

I hope so. I really, really hope so.
Of course, Jarvis is British. The vengeance of a British butler is terrible to behold, and would come under the heading of “cruel and unusual punishment” in the States. And like God, his mills grind slowly, but , , ,

The value is not just in the materials. There’s also the the entertainment.

It was because of the cochineal colouring (a product forbidden to Muslims and Jews) that Rontree’s replaced red Smarties with blue.

    What!!!!
You mean I have been deprived of nourishing low-fat insect cases because of the religious practices of others?!
I demand my human right to be an insectivore!

Cochneal beetles (used to make the red dye) are native to Central America and were used by the Maya and Aztecs as a fabric and skin dye.
Because it is made from an “unclean” animal, Jews and Moslems are forbidden to consume cochineal.
Christians are permitted to eat all the bugs they want.

No, Meddick! Do not rob me of the wonder and nostalgia I associate with cotton candy by exposing it for what it truly is!

My theory is that cotton candy is the perfect sugary snack. You put it on your tongue and it disappears. What did I just eat? Nothing. It vaporized! I think James needs to bop that kid on the head for ruining his cotton candy! My favorite cotton candy memory is when I dropped it on the ground and tried to wash it off. Fascinating!

The newer polyester candy is a much better deal.
