It happens here in America too, I filed a class action lawsuit against my last employer because he cheated me and all his employees out of OT going back 6 years! The only way we could earn the base salary of $300 a week was to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week!

Of course, a “living wage” depends on the cost of living. You also have to consider the runaway population growth. Too many people competing for too few resources. Free, compulsory birth control would help. Or, give every family a satellite TV. Give them something else to do at night. Another solution would be the time honored tactic of calling a strike. As usual, Steffi treats the symptom rather than the cause.

That’s why unions have been losing membership for the last 25 years. If you have marketable skills, you don’t have to pay a goon with no degree to bargain for you. Unions have outlived their utility, and they ALL need to be sent to the trash bin of history, right along with VCRs, film cameras and car tires with tubes.

A child tax would be good. Also an adopted child as a dividend all carefully monitored.

As long as there are businesses you will need Unions. And don’t think for a minute that businesses don’t have their own “goons.”

Most companies have gotten out of training people to work for them. They demand them trained, years even, though the technology is maybe a year old. So many without work. You lose your skills fast when you aren’t employed in your field. I see it as a concerted effort to bring the country to its knees by a few at the top of the heap who want this country as their very own.

You lost me at “marketable skills are of no importance”. A lot of millenials are just slackers who have settled for a chance to party 24/7. Those with degrees or other skills (plumbers and electricians can make 60 to 80k/year. without union goons with no degree bargaining for them. If you mean government sector employees, that is an entirely different animal. I was a union buster for the government. I regularly went against the HS educated union reps, and they were quite easy to jerk around. Then a Dem mayor got elected, and he let them all in. If you think government employees need unions, look at California.

Private sector unions are below 15% of the workforce. And thank you. I was a union buster, I was good at it and I enjoyed my work.

I’d like to see some supporting evidence on such a charge. Now Unions have been infiltrated by union busting police and from the corporation itself to destroy it.
