A lot of gadgets nowadays ARE useless knick-knacks. That I can agree upon as a detriment of consumerism.

Zing! Anyway, the beauty of the free market is that each individual gets to decide what’s useless and dysfunctional
for himself. Oh, that’s right, people are too stupid to know what’s in their own interest, so we have to force stuff on them.

It’s useless and dysfunctional so spend alot of money booming the Hell out of it. That sounds like the guiding principle behind campaigns for public office.

I knew it Steph main foe is advertisement. We the people are to stupid to be an individual. We are nothing but an ignorant dumb masses who will elect politician like Obama because he can demonize the top 1 oops now it is top 2% to buy votes and support from the bottom 20%. Carry that in the real world and it is the TV and lame steam media who give the stupid the marching orders.
What I do not get is how she can be apart of the man bad he hurt mommy earth, Gorebull warming Religion. Talk about your marketing. The guy puts out a fanatical sci fi horror flick riddled with half truths and non facts. For that he gets the dynamite prize. Sets up shop, 4 or 5 years later cashes out of the carbon shake down, tax cap and trade the plunder to the tune of 18 million. Now he is saving the earth by building electric sport car batteries with our tax money over seas. Talk about a sales men.

They wouldn’t advertise if it didn’t work.

Define Marxism for us please? Marx said, “there is no such thing as Marxism.”
    -
Only blind self destructive fools ignore the damage to the earth as the Reich Wingers (wrong most of the time) so they are against Science, against The People and for the oligarchs, their rising Plutocracy and holy war. Not a good thing to be for but a poisoned heating earth is excellent for their pro Fascist world domination views. They have the military to do it. All they must do is to finish destroying the Constitution and the New Deal then it will be done.

Marketing is not a subject on which Marx spent much time. It didn’t properly exist in the mid-19th Century and the primary argument against it — that only stupid people fall for it — is antithetical to Marxist doctrine. If you’re not stupid to begin with, Marxism is belly-laughingly absurd. If you attack marketing for the same thing, you find that marketing and Marxism have more in common than the first one-and-a-half syllables. If you can’t park your brain where you can’t find it, you can’t buy into Marxism. So it’s a quandary for the True Believers.

I think Harleyquinn only posts here when he’s liquored up. He rarely makes any sense. Right wing ideology warps the brain, grammar and attempting to make a coherent argument.

Let’s see. Marxism is based on logic, mathematical formulas, science, reason, and morality. Marketing is based on exploiting the weakest elements of human emotion for someone else’s profit.
So nothing at all alike really, and as always, though you use more verbose language than the other shills here, you make just as little sense. Its fun to pretend to be smart I guess.

You actually believe that? I’d change dealers if I were you.

Marketing from the beginning has been based on mass mind manipulation and it has been working. First and foremost in the USA. Long before Germany went Nazi and Russia went Bolshevik the USA was getting women to smoke and wear green, and convincing most people to go to war and to hate Germans. Still in use and still works.

My, my, is someone’s bra on too tight? When you understand economics and history, you may speak to me. Until then, don’t imagine yourself anything other than a Marxist dupe.
