    So, why should Obamacare be so “sacred” that it’s provisions cannot be negotiated? So far even Obama has found many of its provisions economically and politically awful; so much so he’s illegally granted lots of waivers to political allies over it.

    I haven’t heard any Republican suggestions on how to actually correct its flaws. I suppose they were too busy symbolically repealing the thing (since they couldn’t actually repeal it) to come up with any?

    I do believe it’s American democracy. Corporate America and the Republican Party think they can do better without it.

    Great post while avoiding the censors. Everyone should look at that while keeping in mind that the Daily News is a right wing rag.

    The election is over. American government works on compromise and that is not want Obama has been or is doing. His position is one of absolutes not compromise.
    .
    “That’s not happening. And they know it’s not happening.”
    .
    The President lost the mid term, and the Democrats lost ground in Congress again in 2012 even though Obama was re-elected by a narrow margin. The Democrats are not winners nor are the Republicans losers. Both sides have a duty to talk and negotiate a solution. Your attitude, like the Democrats seems to be “Our way or the highway!” That isn’t going to wok for anyone.

    Whether you, or I, agree with it one they suggested is starting over by scrapping it entirely. Other potential solutions have been either kicked to the curb (medical savings accounts for example) or ignored.

    This is your idea of negotiation?

    @braindead08

    Scrapping it entirely is unworkable, as the previous system was on its last legs. Starting over? As long as someone else does it, I suppose…..the only replacement system I have seen was the plan that Romney/Ryan proposed during the campaign, and that would bankrupt the country exponentially faster than Obamacare.

    Another idea is only better if it actually IS better.

    Single payer. It’s the only way. It’s only a matter of time. The question is how long we’re willing to wait.

    My post above was actually a response to Enoki. Sorry to respond to another response to the same person.
