Every time Donald Trump opens his mouth or keyboard (Faux “News” interview; CNN Town Hall; numerous posts on his own proprietary social medium), he makes another unsolicited confession. Special Jack Smith is watching and taking notes and popping popcorn — lots of popcorn — trying to decide how much to introduce at trial.
These voluntary statements, not requested or solicited by any law enforcement, can be used by Jack Smith who gets to pick and choose what he uses for adversarial purposes, but Trump and his attorneys cannot do the same. Well, technically they could, but if they did it would be considered testimony by Trump which becomes subject to requiring him to answer questions under cross-examination. For the Trump team to introduce such evidence would effectively constitute a voluntary waiver of his Fifth Amendment rights and expose him to cross-examination.
So keep it up, Donald. Every time he opens his mouth (or keyboard) he inches ever closer to a self-inflicted guilty verdict.
And his attorneys keep resigning because they have a client who keeps sabotaging their efforts to defend him, not to mention not wanting to pay for the services he sabotaged.
