I’m all for REAL tax reform that isn’t set on making me pay more taxes so that some other guy doesn’t have to pay at all. (The current government approach). But those corporate loopholes are used to fund research, encourage development and improve the lives of many. I would much prefer to see them done out in the open with a vote from congress rather then hidden in the tax code but they aren’t necessarily just give aways.
On the other hand; I don’t want to see them do anything about student loan debt. Young men and women go to college and assume debt as an investment in their future. The market is fairly transparent and efficient. The interest on Student loan debt is high because students are getting out of college and not paying off their loans. The risk on Students has become very high because too many of them are getting degrees in General studies, History, art, etc. and they can’t find a job.
My wife and I have worked hard and sacrificed to put our kids through college without them needing to take on any debt. Now the Liberals would put me on the hook for paying for all these dead beat students as well. I say NO!!!!
Tuition continues to rise because there is a plethora of kids wanting to go to college even if the degree program they want is useless. The market for desk space is being distorted by very inexpensive loans to questionable students.
Let me offer a counterpoint to this one.
