    If these characters were trying to help Americans, and help America succeed, they wouldn’t be placed on the mountain of shame.

    Wait a sec – don’t you have to have been born in the USA to rate a spot on Mt. Flushmore?

    Mr. Luckovich’s cartoon is divisive and will only harden the positions of most of those who agree and disagree with him.
    Fortunately for him, there are plenty of folks who enjoy justifying their uncompromising and recalcitrant stands so they can flame those with whom they disagree rather than have a dialectic conversation about why Mr. Luckovich might have chose these people as “problems” in our politics. A conservative cartoonist could have easily provided similar caricatures of liberals whose political behavior has contributed to the divisiveness and weakening of our nation and the insults between neighbors.
    Respectfully,
    C.

    And your comment sounds like it comes from the mouth of a true Nazi fascist.
    Do you know the difference?

    @onguard

    Actually that sounds like a description of the Tea Party and those of the GOP who forget what the Constitution and our Pledge of allegiance really says instead of what they wish it had said.

    Your post doesn’t really work, considering how little legislation has been PASSED by this Congress.

    How did those people ever get ahead in the first place?

    If you don’t think that this cartoon points up a major problem in the Republican party, a lack of leaders who can appeal to a vast majority of voters and not a fringe element, then you truly are in denial.

    @efells

    Exactly. If the GOP or the Tea Party or whatever they’ll officially be calling themselves in 2016 ever wants to be taken seriously enough to get a presidential candidate elected, they’ll have to assemble a field of presidential candidates the whole world won’t laugh at. And I don’t see that happening.

    @efells

    Actually, Efells, I see a lack of leaders in both parties. I also believe that the media, not intelligent and objective groups of people, will choose our options for us and Citizen’s United will cement those choices with billions of dollars across the nation.
    Sadly,
    C.

    Effective, moderate Republicans were replaced with Tea Party zealots. Koch has destroyed the heart of the Republican party, and run the whole national government into the ground over partisan bickering fomented by the Tea Party machinations. Citizen’s United money has seriously damaged our nation’s political processes.
