    This is the tea party trying to hijack the republican party. They think that the American people are only tea party people. This guy is very dangerous. He and the tea party do not care if they shut down the government. The tea party is pathetic. They do not care about anybody but themselves.

    If the Democrats are this worried about defunding Obamacare then it is probably a GOOD thing. Everytime they start whinning about the end of the world and how civilization is doomed because government is shrinking or has less money it ends up better for everybody but them.

    Someone has to take the wheel from the RINOs. They are driving it off a ledge a few feet down to keep from driving in the democrat circle.

    .
    So, you’re saying the same thing as the cartoonist? Because the Tea Party is at the wheel and driving the GOP off a cliff. Which is just fine with me.

    If the government shuts down:
    Troops don’t get paid, Social Security checks don’t go out, parks close, Medicare and Medicaid will close, government offices giving out passports close.
    The interest rates on money the government owes may go up, adding to the debt, but, hey, if it keeps 30 million Americans from getting health care it is worth it, right righties?
    (actually it won’t work)

    @Rockngolfer

    Do your research. Social Security checks still go out, troops still get paid, Obamacare still moves forward, Medicare / Medicaid doesn’t close. You are correct about passports being delayed. Also national parks probably close. Also, all government employees get a paid vacation. Government shut-downs are symbolic… and would be a thing of the past if congress would simply pass a budget which they haven’t done in the last 6 years.

    A strange opinion. Fortunately, most Americans do not see it that way. See any poll.

    I’m taking you on as a project. I will attempt to call you out each time you say something stupid, hateful or boring. You get 3 for 3 today. Consider yourself “called out”.

    All you have to have in Texas to be elected to the US Senate is the “R” in front of your name on the ballot. The majority of Texans wouldn’t vote for a Democrat if he were Jesus Christ. I guarantee you most of these voters didn’t even realize he was born in Canada.
