I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that there are bookies taking odds on this in Vegas or London…

Not in Vegas, but British bookmakers like Paddy Power or William Hill will lay odds on anything. You can bet on who will be the next Pope, what name he’ll choose, when the conclave will start, how many ballots they’ll go through, and more…

Pope = Protector of Pedophiles Emeritus!

The Church would get a lot more American attention if choosing the Pope involved a pay-per-view “Rage in the Cage” match of some sort. Heck, I’d pay forty bucks to watch a Cardinal do a Power Bomb from the top turnbuckle.

Since Obama is an excellent piker of such brackets, let him see how close he comes to predicting who the next Pope will be,

I remember many years ago when “Father Guido Sarducci” (Don Novello) revealed on Saturday Night Live that he might be promoted to Cardinal, and that being Cardinal came with a pair of trousers with a red stripe down each side. According to Father Sarducci, “Nothing brings out the really good veal in an Italian restaurant like that red stripe.”
So one can only imagine how good the Pope’s veal is (if one considers veal “good”).

I predict the next pope will be a man of color. Perhaps African, probably Latino. If they listen to their PR guys, they’ll go with the Brazilian – think of all the amazing free press during both the World Cup and the Olympics. The whole world will be watching Brazil twice in the next four years. You heard it here first.
