    … meanwhile, back at the economic crisis, their colleagues put forth Mitt Romney’s losing tax proposal to end the fiscal cliff.

    @avarner

    No, it’s more about the way these two nit-wits are handling the whole investigation!
    They ALREADY have their minds made up, and NOTHING anyone can say will change that.
    It’s just a big circus being held when there are a LOT more pressing issues to deal with.
    AND, Susan Rice has NOT EVEN been Nominated to fill ANY office in the new cabinet, in case anyone has forgotten that little point…

    REALLY!? this is the news. That the GOP, without enough to do already, is making a pre-emptive strike at an official that hasn’t been nominated for anything yet?

    don’t these guys have a job?

    I keep saying leave her alone. She was a good little mouth piece that did as she was told and now is being rewarded.

    Yep John McCain and his boyfriend Lyndsey Graham are just a bunch of time wasting clowns whining about nothing but sour grapes for losing in 2008 and 2012. So funny how the little conservative crybabies come here to cry about their most recent loss, thanks for supporting Liberal cartoonists deadbeats!

    All of the answers to the questions that McCain says he has have been public knowledge for weeks. He’s pretending that they haven’t been answered, but anyone with any knowledge of the event knows there’s nothing there. There’s plenty of questions to ask about the Bengazi incident, but Susan Rice was in no way responsible for the incident. What happened on the Sunday talk shows is simply irrelevant compared to the death of four Americans — over which Rice had no responsibility. McCain is a clown.

    Get a grip, Dale. Who can be absolutely accurate when reporting on the Islamist wackos? She didn’t kill anyone; they did.

    She’s an ambassador; the White House is who she works for.

    Contrary to current conditions of our government, ambassadors and cabinet secretaries should be a quite a bit more than parroting shills of the administration. True, they both serve at the pleasure of the POTUS, but for them to display no capacity for questioning or challenging before aiding and abetting the dissemination of half-truths and lies is both irresponsible and incompetent.
    The US Senate OWES the people who elected them, employ them and pay their salaries the most vigorous and thorough vetting process for any appointee of the Executive branch, i.e., the White House.
    To be a blind, deaf ‘n dumb rubber stamp for whatever the POTUS wants is tantamount to turning their backs on their own Constitutional responsibilities and public accountabilities, for unlike the POTIS and the VPOTUS (also known as ’second banana’ or ‘clown-in-waiting’), members of the US Senate are directly answerable to the voting public in their home states, not to some instrument of government like the electoral college.
    Ambassador Rice has not been nominated for anything at this time, but the gauntlet was thrown down in the first presidential press conference held since early this year.
    I have no doubt that Obama will not only nominate Susan Rice for Secretary of State, but will exercise the full scope of his powers to ensure her confirmation…that much was clear in his press conference…Mr. Obama hates being challenged, and he has both a glass jaw and very thin skin. He will ‘dare’ the US Senate to try and stop him from doing whatever he wants to do, and not just with respect to this cabinet post…He may be a lame duck to some, but in his mind, he is omnipotent. Everything is happening as he envisions it…according to his grand plan…the fiscal cliff included. He and the Dimocraps keep changing the rules of engagement…now he wants the right to cave, but those pesky spending cuts can wait until next year (which means they won’t happen at all)…Does anyone out there have the least bit of confidence in any promises or assurances mouthed by this administration?
