That’s a problem in the U.S.: companies you work for can force you to do or say things that would be a clear violation of the law if the government did it. The solution is simple: nationalize all companies so they have to follow the laws…

This is where we are headed, folks. We have a right to be who we are, except when it’s in conflict with some delicate-flowered-sensibilities of someone else who pitches a fit. If you aren’t pro-gay-marriage, you are homophobic. If you aren’t pro-abortion, you are anti-woman. If you aren’t pro-welfare-state, you want to stand on the backs of the poor.

How about if you aren’t pro-gay, you are pro-traditional-marriage? How about instead of pro-abortion, we’re pro-life? How about if you aren’t pro-welfare-state, you are pro-self-reliance? But people think if you aren’t pro-(insert liberal sentimentality here), you are anti-(insert liberal sentimentality here, only with ugly words).

How would the liberal press react to the reverse? If you aren’t pro-life, you are anti-life? If you aren’t pro-traditional-marriage, you are heterophobic? If you aren’t pro-self-reliance, you are pro-moochers? See how ugly that is? But why is it okay if the reverse is said? Just because we disagree doesn’t mean you can be ugly about it.

    @ Wraithkin
I could not reply to your comment for some reason (I think because of an open ended html formatting in your post, so I will reply to you like so)

Have you determined the origin of that news?
If you do a search in English, all you’ll get are American rightwing blogs spouting outrage over a translation of this “article”.
If you do a search in Italian, one gets hits for or about a satirical on-line rag much like the Onion. Nothing on any respectable Italian newspaper.

    You’ve been had.
Ask for an Italian speaking friend to help you research the story before you go spreading fake news.

    You’re welcome.

TRUIST: “The Christian rightys with their knickers in a bunch…”
    RADISH: “Right wing fantasy land.”

This guy, Stephen Smith of ESPN, African American and self professed Liberal, is about to get thrown out of the club. (In other words he makes sense.) Watch the video.

ESPN analyst: How can you fine a player for saying he doesn’t like to see two men kissing?

Valid point regarding the link. I tried searching for its validity (like Snopes, etc), but I couldn’t find it. But even if it is satire, the rest of my comment isn’t. And the rest of my comment isn’t invalid. People on one side of the spectrum (typically liberals, but sometimes conservatives) are so intolerant against intolerance that they become the monsters they are trying to fight.

The LGBT community wanted to gain validity by being able to discuss and argue their points in a civil manner that supported their cause, but now that it’s been validated, they are more intolerant of those who share opposing views than those parties were against their LGBT status. It’s hypocritical, to say the least. Your opinion had better fall in line with theirs, otherwise you will be branded a homophobe or worse. There is a major difference between supporting heterosexual marriage and being a homophobe.

Granted, I know there are members of the LBGT community that aren’t this way, but you wouldn’t know it based on the media’s and LBGT community’s response at large. So why do heterosexuals have to walk on eggshells around homosexuals, but the reverse is not true?

Sounds good, but it didn’t seem to work very well in Britain.
