He has a right to step down. I’m not working the rest of my life. The sad thing is the Pope is now going to live with poor nuns.

Google “take this job and shove it” to hear the song.
I’m listening to it now as I type this.

Can you blame him for quitting the job? The employee handbook is ANCIENT and contradicts itself all over the place, the uniform is ridiculous, and forget about the boss ever returning your calls!

If you truly wanted Hillary for President, why didn’t you vote for her in 2008? If you would have voted for her in 2008, she would have been the Democrat Nominee and named Obama as her running mate and she would have won a second term.

News lash: Get a Clue: She has already said she is through with politics and will not seek any other Political Office. We all know Hilary will never tell us a lie correct?

He is doing the right thing, stepping down now so the Cardinals can select a New Pope before he kicks the bucket (dies).

Maybe some of it has to do with all the money and other wealth that the Vatican hordes while stating that it cares about the poor. Can you say “Cognitive Dissonance”?

Don’t forget to add that ideal candidate has only one eye and speaks with a pronounced lisp. Has to be a left-winger. But, wait, I repeat myself.

I’m betting the next pope will be old, male, white, asexual, and…duh….conservative.

So all the other Popes (for the last400 to 500 years did the wrong thing by staying Pope until they die, which is what the job description actually states. You righties will say anything just to argue, even when it contradicts facts and tradition. Wow

Same term of office as for SCOTUS, but folks don’t pay attention to the part in the Constitution that says “during good behavior”, not actually “for life”. Apparently the Pope caught that “drift”??

Will he still be Benedict XVI after Feb 28th or does he go back to his birth name of Ratzinger?

History will remember him as Benedict XVI. Society will or could refer to him as Mr Ratzinger. Although, I believe, former presidents are still addressed as Mr President.
It will be interesting to watch this event develop.

@cubefarmer – who are you talking to?
    .
I’m still waiting on who will emerge this time, as (according to that one monk & Nostradamus) this will be the last Pope. I’m not Catholic, but things will get interesting once one is elected.
