There was a really bad video posted to YouTube in June ‘12. Nothing happened.
In early September ’12, an Egyptian News show broadcast clips from the video dubbed into Arabic and demanded action.
Egyptians gathered around the American Embassy in Egypt, and the Egyptian Ambassador apologised for the video and asked for peace, which he more-or-less got, since no Americans were killed in Cairo.
On 9/11/12, some jihadists attacked the American consulate in Ben Ghazi and killed four Americans, including the ambassador. Usually, ambassadors stay at the hardened embassy, not the vulnerable consulate, especially after sending a letter warning of security risks in Libya.
On 9/12/12, President Obama called the attack on the consulate an act of terror, but the White House waffled on whether the video had anything to do with the attack for about a week before deciding to say that the terror attack was not prompted in any way by the video, since opinion pollsters said this was the best thing to say.
How anyone can be certain whether the video was or was not one of the proximate excuses for the attack is beyond me, since no one has yet questioned any of the attackers as to their motivations.
Of course, the New York Times claimed that one of the attackers was seen drinking first a mango juice and then a strawberry frappe, but nothing was done to him. But if the reporter couldn’t tell the difference between mangos and strawberries, how certain are we that he correctly identified one of the attackers?

I’ve head a rumor that the terrorists got into the Benghazi embassy grounds so easily because they were all dressed as Colombian hookers!

Yea, the planned attack on September 11 on an American embassy was because of…. because of… a youtube video… yea, that was it… O is blameless and clueless….
Americans anywhere are in danger because of this White House occupier.

Since their massive electoral failure in 2008, the only things the Republicans have contributed to America are the tea party and trying to create a Benghazi scandal.
.
Keep it up, guys. Irrelevence is just around the corner.

Republicans didn’t create the Benghazi scandal, any more than Democrats created Watergate.
Watergate brought down a presidency. See any parallels, here? No? You must not be old enough to remember; I am. It wasn’t the crime; it was the cover up that felled Nixon. Eventually, even the mainstream press will cease circling the wagons around Obama.

Yes, before September 22, she went on TV and said what the best intelligence at the time was.
We have a black re elected President, get over it.

Water gate happened because the Republicans got caught robbing the Democrats office.
Benghazi happened because we were attacked by foriegn nationals in a country we overthrew.
I do not see any parallels.

Parallel = cover-up of lies connected to Oval Office. Try to keep up.

I’m old enough.

Benghazi isn’t a scandal. It was never a scandal. Hard as the right tries to push, it’s still not a scandal.
.
At Benghazi there was no crime committed (there was an act of war committed. We already are at war with those that committed it.). At The Watergate there was a crime committed. In the process of investigating that crime, many other crimes were uncovered (like the forging of a letter from a US Senator). Further, the President entered into a Constitutional Debate wherein he claimed that the president was above the law. Oh, and for good measure, the VEEP was accepting payments on bribes while he was in the White House!
.
Meanwhile the Attorney General was drugging his wife against her will, to keep her quiet.
.
The president was authorizing secret wiretaps of political opponents. Today this isn’t just not illegal, it is apparently “Security protocol” for Home Land Security!
.
WaterGate was an incredible mess!
.
Benghazi was a very credible mess.
.
But parallels? No there aren’t any real parallels. they only look like parallel linse because of the blue smoke and mirrors of the dishonest opposition, trying to have some relevancy in an ever more distant world.
.
If you’re going to say “Well we should have done better! And it’s a crime that we didn’t!” Then how about we remember the 300 tons of super high grade explosives that were stolen from the Ammunition dump in Iraq. Are you old enough to remember that?
.
There we were, ostensibly looking for weapons of mass destruction, and 300 tons of explosive material (supposedly the stuff they use to make nukes explode) and we knew where it was and we had secured the area, and then… we let it get stolen!
.
How many IEDs were fashioned with that material? How many Americans ond Iraqis were blown to bits because the president and the military didn’t maintain that site securely?
.
There’s a scandal for you… But, nobody cared and the story died.

You see, that is the republican attempt to manufacture a scandal.

They couldn’t beat Obama in the voting booths, so they’re trying to get him out with a tempest in a tea pot.

Well put. Remember Donald Rumsfeld’s answer to the question of why we let the looters loot: “Freedom is Untidy.”
