The PPACA has been partially effective in bringing millions into the healthcare finance system. Unfortunately, as a private-market initiative financed, in part, by government subsidies to low income citizens, it fails the test of being the appropriate public policy to address the problem. How about expanding Medicare for all, instead? Recent American experience shows the PPACA private sector solution is problematic just as public sector solutions can be. But because republican ideologues cannot be reasoned with….we get a halfway solution that protects millions more people, but is still suboptimal. Thanks republicans!
