I’m a retired Postal Worker. But what can I do to keep from going Postal? I’m too old and ugly to cruise for hot women.

Oil companies want to raise the price for gas 50 cents a gallon. They can’t do it without an uproar. So they raise it a dollar, and then drop it back to where they wanted it in the first place, and the Public is placated.

Simplistic view of hot topic. No one wants refineries in their backyard in the U.S. refineries don’t make much profit anyway.

4 dollar a gallon gas is because you folks wanted “Hope and Change”. Now that we are going “Forward”, don’t look for it to go down, especially when Hillery gets in…..
I advise ya’ll to “THINK” before you vote. “nobody” looked at barry’s background before the last (2) voting periods. It’s going to be higher, when Mrs. Clinton is our new fearless leader.

What a bunch of BS! The largest part of the profit is to government in taxes. The profit margin in oil is lower than most other industries.

So how do you explain the far higher gas prices elsewhere in the world? $1.92 per liter in Britain, $1.62 per liter in France vs. .77 per liter in the US. In fact, according to one website, the US ranks #101 in gasoline prices.

Oops, correction: With 1.00 being the world’s median price per liter, the US pays about .77 the median price while France pays about 1.62 times the median price (about double).

But we had $4 a gal. under Bush so that makes your hypothesis null and void.

What taxes? The top corporations pay very little to none. A few get paid some of our tax money to them!

Higher MPG cars are one solution. The other is to go back to living in the same community in which we work and go to school. Use bicycles, mass transit, and feet more, cars less.
