In all of these GC forums I keep seeing Bush’s and Obama’s time spent on the golf course being compared, criticized, and condemned. What I don’t see is someone stating why I should give a rat’s patoot about how much golf these guys have played.

The war on terror, much like the war on drugs, requires many of us to give up freedom we once took for granted.

Homeland security wasn’t started by this admin, but they sure have continued it.

The Constitution guarantees that the US press is absolutely and unconditionally free to parrot whatever the US government tells them to. And only the US press is this free.

More to the point, the golf question is ONLY raised by conservatives, because they honestly think that Obama spends too much time playing golf. But they are in a glass house on this one, as virtually all conservative politicians play golf more, and take more vacations than Obama. How many days has the House been in session these past two months?

Does it seem that Republicans are sympathetic or at least quiet where Mr. Obama’s use of gov’t resources to stop media “leaks” is concerned? The NSA and the precedences of punishing the “Free Press” are tools both parties want to be able to use in restraining the freedom of journalists to do their jobs? There is a sad irony in this as the US media is a shadow of what it used to be due to its dependence on advertising dollars and the oversight of corporate owners.
Mr. Obama’s lack of transparency is one of many disappointments of his administration. The only leaks the last two administrations tolerated were those they provided. Mr. Wuerker’s wonderfully illustrated cartoon states a sad truth and one for which ALL Americans who wish to be given facts as well as opinionated ‘truths’ should be concerned.
Why is it that the only time the two parties show any cooperation is on an issue that actually increased political power at the cost of liberties.
    Sadly,
    but Respectfully,
    C.

The national report is blatantly a right-wing opinion blog.

It’s more of an “Onion” type fake news site, with all of the credibility, but none of the humor.

You are one to talk with your own irrational rants and sticking to the think tank bullet points as you do. How about some facts instead?

Lies work better than the truth it seems for them. Otherwise they couldn’t sell their spew too well.
