    Unfortunately, most Americans these days get their news from Twitter and idiots like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

    Informing the public is secondary to informing the public opinion. All information influences opinions. It is irresponsible of a journalist to merely inform and provide unfiltered facts without regard to the opinions that will result.
    They are on a mission from God, just like the Blues Brothers.

    My understanding is the US government is involved in public education but it is run by communities with direction from the individual states. But then I am a (proud) product of public education.

    Clearly most network news is pure entertainment and cable news such as FOX is pure propaganda. You really do need to think critically and use the resources on the Internet to get informed on what is really going on.

    That’s about correct. But, public education was pretty good before Jimmy Carter established the Department of Education and the US government got involved in it. Since then it’s been a luge ride to the bottom.

    Adrian, you should do your homework. Yes, these are comedy shows but the Progressive Left takes them as serious news too.

    @Nantucket19

    Then why does the Progressive Left resort to “bumper-sticker statements” like “Hope and Change” to get their base to understand…?

    It was fun seeing Jon Stewart running circles around that idiot conservative from the Heritage Foundation last night. Jim DeMint is not used to people confronting him with facts, and it totally flummoxed him.

    “Clearly most network news is pure entertainment and cable news such as FOX is pure propaganda.”

    Clearly. And for those who have the knowledge, it is obvious that in numerological terms, the number 666 is the sixth, fifteenth and twenty-fourth letters of the alphabet, which clearly spells out FOX, the beast of the Revelation that is here to tell only lies.

    But do you think it wise to make such a belief system the official religion of the US and keep anybody who is not counted among the faithful out of public office?

    Sure, we all believe that if we just believe and give all power to the government that we will live in a Heaven upon Earth in the Sweet By and By, but should it be established as the official State Religion?

    Your ignorance of the public schools is hardly a ringing endorsement for home schooling or a voucher system.
