Marmaduke is America's most lovable Great Dane. Created by Brad Anderson, the classic comic canine has delighted newspaper readers since 1954. Marmaduke lives with the Winslow family, who, try as they might, just can't seem to get him to obey. Despite his antics, the playful pooch is top dog in the neighborhood and on the comics page, where he has endeared himself to readers in more than 20 countries. The daily panel also strikes a chord with pet owners, many of whom write to Anderson to comment on Marmaduke as if he were a real dog.

Now that would bring a giggle from kids in a lunchroom.

I’m guessing that after Dukie pulled the kids to school on their sled, he didn’t stick around.

My cat’s idea of a treat is either a grasshoper or a lizard-she has no idea of course that for humans this is inedible.

@Uskoke
Our little 6 month old kitten, Lily, caught her a mouse and called us out to the front porch. She then proceeded to show us how to catch and eat a mouse.
Seriously! She would look up and make sure we were watching at each step in the process.
She held it down with her paw on it, looked up at us and let it go. When it started to run, she pounced on it, looked at us, and killed it.
then she ate it.
It was so cute and so gross at the same time! I guess she thought we’d starve if we didn’t have this essential information! She died last year after about 17 years of loving and entertaining us and we miss her.
Marm is a loving dog, that’s for sure!
