I remember one time a kid did fall off the slide in 2nd or 3rd grade. He was knocked out and his nose was bleeding. They just took him to the school nurse and hushed it up.

I could sit on the metal bar and swing backwards, but was scared to fall forwards, lol After I finally made myself do it, it was so easy. Fun to be age 9 again.

Like most of your school days stories this is very hard to believe, even if the authorities wanted to ‘hush it up’ what about all the kids who saw it happen? Do you expect us to believe the school authorities went to each child and told them not to tell this story to anyone or they would be punished? None of the kids went home and told their parents, siblings or friends “Guess what happened to Joey today!!” Frankly I find most of your stories about how bad your school was very hard to believe. Frankly you sound like a FoX News editorial about how horrible the public schools have become all because of the Liberals.

I think if something like that happened now there would be an ambulance over. But there was no ambulance. The kid didn’t break any bones or anything. It was hushed up in the sense that it was never discussed. I still remember the teachers trying to act nonchalant about it but they also seemed a bit sheepish, too. The teachers watching the playground didn’t run over for example, they just strolled over. Our school consisted of the poor kids. Hey if you think that’s bad, I could regale you with middle school locker room stories if they could make it past the censors.
