    I thought the baby’s name was Lila (pronounced “Lee-la,” I should know. Night-Gaunt49 gave me grief about it the other day.). Was this simply a typo?

    No typo. That’s just Maria giving her a more affectionate form. Like her friend Joey, who is probably really Joseph.

    It is a pain about names. You can spell and pronounce them any way your want. This is just confusing to me.

    Oh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up. Don’t get me wrong, both names are cute.

    @Night-Gaunt49

    It’s a Spanish name, and Spanish pronunciation is different from English. In fact, only English pronounces the vowels as ‘ay- ee-eye- oh -yoo’
    Spanish, and most European languages, use the original Latin sounds ‘ah- ay- ee- oh- oo.’

    Here’s a couple for you- and these are English:
    Chomondelay- pronunced “Chumley.”
    Featherstoneshaw- pronounced “Fanshaw.”

    Maria is smart to stay away from those stinky smelly things. Big sisters are for getting into trouble…. not for staying clean.
