    Never saw this kind of homework pressure until college where there was a fear of flunking. My public school was pretty relaxed about homework. In fact they preferred not to have to grade it. They didn’t use textbooks in many classes, like no books in any of the English and math classes – not even for the teacher. Sports was an entirely different story though. They were sports crazed.

    The kids seem to get a lot more homework than when I did, and some of it seems way more advanced. And yet, other schools are dumbing down tests. Kinda contradictory goals.
