If a teacher did that, you’d have to write a report on them. comparing and contrasting Donald Duck and Daffy Duck or something.

At least Donald is more consistent. His whole personality and demeanor weren’t changed like Daffy’s

Donald was my favorite Disney character, even more than Mickey.

Speaking of which, we could also do a compare and contrast with Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny too.

Donald became more popular than Mickey when the shorts were still being produced regularly. Mickey became the corporate symbol, and that began a softening of his character. He had to represent everything good and wholesome that Disney wished to project, so it became harder to cut loose and be funny. Donald had no such constraints, and was free to let it all fly. Mickey would not be seen shoving cigars into little kids’ mouths and forcing them to smoke until sick, because he was too dumb to know they were meant to be a present for him. Donald could do that very thing.

The oldest Tom and Jerry cartoons are the best. The artwork in them is something to hehold.

It’ was labor intensive. Small wonder that they streamlined the designs when the series took off and they knew they were going to be making lots of them.

I always wondered what happened there. I didn’t like the newer ones.
