    I have a calculator that I bought in ‘86. I don’t use it all the time but it is still running on the original batteries. It got me through college. (No solar on it either.) Every time I use it I’m impressed. Maybe it should be checked for radiation…

    The old calculators seem to last longer. Or maybe it’s the old batteries….

    @johnzakour

    Batteries don’t last two minutes these days.

    I think we new calculators you just toss them out and buy a new one.

    This is a great teacher! She cares about her pupils’ progress. My experience wasn’t so great. I was dumped into a math class for kids not expected to graduate. No book, homework, tests, or problems on the board. I was shanghaied onto the football team though. After paying for that nice game day uniform there may have been no money for books.

    Back when cell phones used to say batt low, a co-worker had just bought a new one, and announced one day that he missed a call from “A Mister Battlow.” From then on, we’d be calling him to the phone, telling him Mr Battlow wanted him.
