When I was a kid, answering machines were new. I got a wrong number once. It was a machine. The guy sounded so self important, he had a machine to answer HIS phone. He also said his number. He got a lot of calls, after I told friends. Caller ID had yet to be invented, fortunately.

Aww, poor guy. That’s terrible, simpsonfan. Funny though ;).
When I was a kid, 11-12, it was the “in” thing to punch in sexy numbers. Kids probably still do that though. Also, a friend of mine had a brother who left a sexy answering machine message on his parents phone :P

I only made one prank call when I was a kid, and I still regret it. Should have made more.

“punch in sexy numbers”??? Clue me in … I guess I’m too old to know about that.

There is a very good episode of “The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy” where Billy was making crank calls but Mandy an others pointed out they have caller I.D. Only when they accidentally called Cthulhu on a demonic phone to crank him did they get sucked into a maelstrom of horror in “Crank Call of Cthulhu.” (Billy isn’t smart just crass.)

Hehe, nah, I probably worded that wrong. Like calling 1-800-HOT-STUF, giggling about breathy-voiced bimbo recording on the other end, and hanging up when she asked for the credit card number. It was retarded. It seemed like there was a phone sex line for any words you could think of, it was ridiculous!

i was once playing around on the phone and got a call from the operator saying to stop. i also found a phone sex line by reversing two numbers from the phone number of one of the radio stations.
