On the other hand, Frank, the weeds may be the only green thing growing in the lawn this year due to the drought in California. So maybe just leave them alone…

Aw, DON’T Sweat it, Frank. I’m SURE there are PLENTY of ‘Lawn Care Specialists’ in town that would be DE-LITED to take care of Your Lawn for You.

    And They’d only CHARGE You 75 to 100 Bucks a Week, and….,

HEY NANCY! Frank’s Grabbed the Lawnmower! LOOK at Him GO!!

How old was your Dad when he was in the Army? Isn’t your daughter about that age now?

I started to calculate that but then realized that the out-of-sync timelines in the Luanniverse made it impossible. Which then reminded me why I stopped trying to make sense of them.

Frank’s Dad was either 7, 18, 39, or 82. At least as close as I can figure.

With the water shortages in California, just don’t water the lawn. Weeds will stop growing. Easy Peasy…
    .
Of course, my bluegrass lawns are absolutely beautiful, not a weed in sight…

Of course, we don’t know whether this was WWII, Korea, Vietnam, or simply peace time.

There are actually some companies here in Sacramento that will come out and paint your dead grass green. Imagine dat.

Your point being what? That Luann should be required to cut the grass because Frank doesn’t want to, or that she should go into the military?

Frank is probably a conscientious objector.

Weeds as they are derisively called is Nature thumbing its metaphorical nose at us. Why are these weeds hardier than the food plants we like and need?
