Oh, NO! I hope the reason winds up being a good one rather than a sad one.

BTW, didn’t the story begin at about this time of year?

Is this how memories are reshaped and new histories formed? If so, why no Biff?

    @sukiec

Biff sacrificed himself in the cave. We’re waiting to see how that plays out back in the “real world”.

    Where’s the Biff?

What “Biff”? There’s never been a “Biff”. What is this “Biff” you refer to?
If you’re smoking something, did you bring enough to share with the whole class?

No-one has asked “where were you?” so time has not passed. This reinfortes the notion that something is not real – the time before Rufus woke, or the time after.

I agree, Biff is significant by his absence.

Uh Rufus, indeed many things may be on your mind, and certainly while preoccupied thoughts may get in the way of your actions without realizing it, you could still have waited for Lydia Schnell’s arrival to ask about borrowing an unchewed pencil..

Rufus is checking for signs of Biff, as the desk next to his should have Biff’s chewed pencils in it. Oh Biff! (wringing hands…)

So, Rufus didn’t ask Twila any pointed questions? (still thinking something will cause a huge GASP on Friday…)

This is a fascinating question—what will the world be like now that Biff has never lived? Can’t help thinking of a certain building and loan manager married to Donna Reed (or something like that)…

    Hmmmmmm.

    Pre-bogey, Two kids
    Post-bogey, one kid

Pre-bogey, Rufus was neat; Biff was messy.
    Post-bogey, Rufus is messy.

Has Biff somehow merged with Rufus? Do we now have “Bufus”?

While I don’t doubt that there will be a huge GASP sooner or later, it may not necessarily be on a Friday. Don’t forget that one of the most massive gasps of all came on a Monday.

As for pointed questions, I get the sense that Twila doesn’t remember anything. In any case, she wouldn’t have known of Rufus’s ordeal, and he never got the chance to tell her about it, given that Twila woke up briefly only to fall asleep again, and Rufe right along with her. I don’t think she even remembers being taken by Rafer Frost; how could she be in such a chipper mood if that was still fresh in her mind?

And so the list of haunting questions continues to grow…

Don’t think I’d want to cross paths with said evil arch nemesis, given that Lydia Schnell looks like a little termagant, or at least one in the making. That said, my first thought was that she resembled an older Cindy Fogle.
