Welcome to a land of strange stories and weirdly-spun yarn, where oddities and unmentionables lurk behind every tale. Here you will witness the plight of the mysterious Heckbender, suffer the misadventures of Derring-Do Dan, learn the unsettling secret of the Slynderfell Ice Cream Cavalcade, and behold the unraveling of The Bogey. A word of caution: stay on the sidewalks, avoid shortcuts through Halfrock Swamp, and do NOT under any circumstances make business transactions with C. Percival Trullus.

Periwether: “I don’t know of these Takers you talk about. I’m just a lowly scholar researching papers on the Necronomicon. Go away.”

Blast from the past:

I’m kinda wondering if Lucius is more allied with the Taker than he’s been letting on…

Considering that Jerry was mentioned having some pains in chest or whatever, I bet by the time those authoroties arrived, there was no Rafer Frost (and Jerry either dead or missing).

At last we shall meet the elusive Dr. Periwether. Or at least knock on her door. Perhaps we shall even learn more about mysterious Lucius, who says so little yet seems to know so much….

You know, I’ve been thinking the same way for more than a month or two on this.Lucius may be the Big Man on the job, or maybe Periwether’s in on it with him. Or maybe he’s Lucius’s boss. Who knows what kind of tangled skein Kory has woven for us. It’ll always come out with a surprise in the end.

Goatsucker does not trust Lucius. That is evidence enough of his duplicity and malicious intent. I suspect that Dr Periwether knows the truth about him, and that he will try to kill her in order to keep that truth secret.

Snerk. Yeah, sounds about right.
Except that Periwether is female, that all of the Takers know who Flimm is, and that Bill and Melissa Watterson vouched for Lucius as a fellow Taker Hunter. Lucius is just a very angry man.

There’s a reason Lucius and Goatsucker don’t get along.

My thoughts exactly—I don’t suspect evil of Lucius, but I do wonder about motive—or, more to the point, whether he’s given up hope, which would make him very dangerous to our trio.
Of course, Margo’s never been able to explain her motives, either…

I’m with you. Goatsucker’s instincts have been spot on… and are very much to be trusted.

Good point. I’ll be curious to see where this goes… and how the visit with the Doc goes, too.

ITA…I believe he is just driven like Keifer Sutherland’s character in “Vanishing”
