End of scene: closing diaphragm shot. They stroll off into the sunset as screen narrows to a pinhole. Lush, hopeful background music. Then…?

Margo: “You know, you’re not such a bad guy. Have you ever kissed Trullus? I have.”

I’m intrigued by what happened to the cloak—particularly given the mention of its “blood-red color”. Sounds like the cloak just…died.
Fabulous art of the two questers strolling off into the future…

Lucius has been in the fight alone for so long that anything and anybody that comes along is just “help” to him.

Foreshadowing with a foreboding sense of hope! Absolutely wonderful.

Foreshadowing + foreboding = attenuating the suspense.

It seemed like just happenstance that Margo and Lucius had come upon the red cloak — but was it? Could it have been set out by the beast himself, as a lure? The fact that it has faded so dramatically in the wake of the beast’s (presumed) death suggests that it may have been enchanted in some way, though there’s really no way of telling just what it did, apart from drawing out the beast.
