    Hey, he’s got a regular gig, a paycheck…
maybe not a LOT of respect..
but at least nobody’s throwing rocks.

Is that less successful than poor, beleaguered, outcast Quasi, who died of starvation in a graveyard?

Don’t worry, Susan. He’s got a good perspective about things. He’s working for that young wet-behind-the-ears minister, Fr. Bartholomew Esmer.
    See, he’s Esmer’s elder.

Does he ring the wedding bells, or open the trap door if they try to make it go over 30 minutes?

    “See, he’s Esmer’s elder.”
    .
How long did you need to think for this to show up?

I think a “jeeesh” is several notches below a “groan” on the humor scale. You sure know how to hurt a guy.

Considering Las Vegas’ wedding chapels didn’t exist at the time of the story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Eddie is either really old or descended from the Hunchback and not his brother.

The better the pun the louder the screams of agony from the audience. I once achieved bleeding ears with one unrepeatable in present (or pretty much any) company.

“I don’t know his name; but his face rings a bell.”
“I don’t know his name; but he’s a dead ringer for his brother.”
You can look up the jokes; those are the punch lines.
