    Horizontal bungee is probably safer on average.

    Their motto: Rock Out!

    (BTW I tried to ask about their safety record but they just stonewalled me.)

    Look out for spine damage on the rebound.

    And hang on to your glasses!

    Hopefully, the stone wall is farther away than the rope is long.

    Unnormal….
    I’m more worried about the stone “wall” right behind him.

    That’s not a rope, it’s a bungee cord…

    so what goes forth, must come back.
    Even faster.

    OOPS!
    That shows you how much thought I’ve given to bungee jumping.

    That’s about as far as my bungee jumping would go…

    Bungee cords violate the second law of thermodynamics‽ Who knew‽

    @pcolli

    I don’t think there will be a rebound. The bungee will slip off the rock and SNAP, like a giant rubber band right in the ass…

    Yeah, I know. But she was so nice about explaining it to me that I didn’t have the heart.

    @unnormal

    No violation involved. You store a lot of energy slowly, then release it quickly. You don’t get back all the energy you stored, but what you DO get back, you get back faster than you put it in. Another way of thinking about it is a long period of low power input, then a short period of high power output.
